NERC CIP
North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) is a non-government organization with the statutory responsibility to regulate bulk power system users, owners and operators. NERC oversees the Critical Infrastructure Protection program, which exists to protect the North American power system reliability both physically and electronically. As such, NERC develops standards, enforces compliance, assesses risk and preparedness, and distributes critical information to the industry. Through its Electricity Sector Information Sharing and Analysis Center, it monitors the bulk power system to provide real-time situation awareness and coordination to the electric industry.
