In addition to the above individual accolades, LBMC further differentiates itself by its commitment to leadership in the information security industry. LBMC’s Security & Risk Services team features 5 of the 10 original founding members of the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the ISSA, which was formed in 2001 and has been recognized several times as a leading Chapter by the International Association. One LBMC team member is one of the founders, moderators, and key contributors to Emerging Threats, the open source community dedicated to information sharing and rapid development of Snort and Suricata rules. Two of LBMC’s leaders are the founders of InfoSec Nashville, a major annual security conference that is held in Nashville by the ISSA and the Nashville Technology Council, and is the largest of its kind in the Southeast. The conference has been in existence for more than 10 years. LBMC is also the sponsor of the Tennessee CISO Forum, a community of information security executives across the State who meet quarterly to discuss information security issues and promote awareness. One LBMC leader is the InfoSec sector leader for the State of Tennessee Office of Homeland Security Advisory Council. One LBMC leader is the co-founder of the Southeast CSO Council, an online community of security executives based in the Southeastern US. Two LBMC leaders served on the inaugural Information Security Advisory Board for the Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County government. This Board, made up of five hand-picked information security leaders from the business community across Middle Tennessee, met quarterly with Nashville Mayor Karl Dean to advise the mayor on information security issues and provide guidance and direction for the city’s information technology assets and data protection plans.
